The Detroit Pistons are heading into 2019 looking to turn over a new leaf like the rest of us. If they embrace their resolutions, the future is bright.

The Detroit Pistons are heading into 2019 with a new vision in mind as they look to put their struggles behind them and push back up the Eastern Conference standings. They currently sit 23rd in offensive rating and tied for 11th in defensive rating. The team has flashed potential under new head coach Dwane Casey, but has been far too inconsistent thus far. Some of that has to do with their current roster construction though.

At 16-17, the Pistons are in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race, but they have been trending down more than up as of late. After starting the year hot, the team has cooled off, and has continued to fall down the standings.

Detroit hasn’t been able to put together a consistent stretch, which has led to their current position. In order to turn that trend, it needs to embrace the new year like the rest of us and change some new things.

Every year, the majority of us start out a new year with some things that we want to change about ourselves and do differently to better ourselves. The Pistons are no different in that aspect. The best teams in the league are able to nitpick little things to improve. Unfortunately, they don’t fit that billing right now, and that makes their resolutions easier to find. If they are able to make these changes, their rise should be a lot easier.
