The Detroit Pistons have played well so far, but there have been a few players that have underachieved. If they don’t step up, things will only get worse.

After a little over two weeks of play, the Detroit Pistons are a confusing team to figure out.

After starting out the season with four straight wins, they have lost three straight and, while power forward Blake Griffin has been doing his best MVP impression, the rest of the team has not been pulling their weight.

Head coach Dwane Casey can put them in good situations, but they have to execute properly to make them successful.

As the season goes on, we will see rotations shift due to player health, development and transactions that are made. It’s unlikely the roster that the team has right now is the same one at the end of the season.

Power forward and former first-round pick Henry Ellenson already saw his option get declined for next season. The coach and GM that created this team are gone and they are more focused on the future than the short-term of this team.

The Pistons are currently fifth overall in the Eastern Conference. The fifth seed was always on the high side of their projections for the season. They can hold this spot, but they are going to need a few players to get back to previous levels.

Regression can always occur, but several players are far below what is necessary for them to achieve their true ceiling. Today, we’re going to look at who this particular group is.
