2. Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards

Another team showing signs of major hemorrhaging is the Wizards. Not only have they gotten off to a shocking start, but it’s been the manner in which they have dropped several of these games that has been most alarming.

Following their most pronounced humiliation of the young season, a 136-104 debacle at the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers, newly arrived guard Austin Rivers commented on the state of the team:

This follows up comments made by All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal, where he questioned the motivations of many of his teammates:

The relationship between Beal and point guard John Wall has often been a source of contention. When the Wizards were flourishing last season in Wall’s absence, Beal noted at the time:

At age 25 and coming off his first All-Star campaign, Beal fits the age profile of the Sixers to a tee. Furthermore, his ability to both play off the ball and create his own shot would provide the Sixers with an ideal star, and a legitimate option at the end of close games.

Granted, while giving up second-year guard Markelle Fultz, forward Robert Covington and youngster Jonah Bolden represents a significant sacrifice, the Sixers have demonstrated in the early stages that they are certainly a level below the elite teams of the Eastern Conference.
