3. Finding the correct rotation

With a team full of promising young players and experienced veterans, finding the perfect combination is a tough task. For head coach Tyronn Lue, creating the ideal rotation will be perhaps his biggest goal this season.

In their first game against the Toronto Raptors, the Cavaliers threw out 12 different players onto the court. Each player had an opportunity, no matter how brief, to prove themselves and earn more playing time.

Playing a large number of different players is a direct result of the fast-paced style that Lue has set in place. The Cavaliers are looking to run in transition at all times. Making sure they constantly have a lineup of fresh legs is a major goal for the team. Therefore, making quick substitutions is something that will happen frequently.

However, if the Cavs plan on having a deep rotation this season, it will be important to figure out who exactly will be in this rotation. This will take the cumulation of at least a few more games to really determine who deserves a spot in the lineup. For now, Lue will have to continue to experiment.
