Milwaukee Bucks: 3 takeaways from 2018-19 season opener

1. Playing with size will likely have its pros and cons
There likely could’ve been a different outcome Wednesday night if the shots wouldn’t have fallen early for the Bucks.
Though it was a very successful night of spacing the floor and capitalizing on open looks, they surrendered even more defensively that almost ended up costing them the game.
It won’t be surprising if the Bucks face some crucial matchup discrepancies as the season progresses. With an inordinate amount of size on the roster, it’s going to add some extra pressure for the team to put up points. Allowing Kemba Walker pick them apart is just the beginning, as there are many other guards in the league who specialize in exploiting flaws in a defense.
On the other hand, Budenholzer’s lineup of bigs did create major problems for the Hornets offensively. If they can stick to that floor-spacing strategy, clear the lane for Antetokounmpo and make their shots, that formula will surely be tough to beat.
