2. Nuggets contributors ran deep

The Nuggets saw multiple players step up in key moments. Although no one on this list (except Gary Harris) played exceptionally well, each is worth a mention.

Harris scored 20 points and was aggressive offensively. He attacked early and often, dropping eight points in the first quarter. He also hit a big shot with 45 seconds remaining, extending Denver’s lead to 99-95.

Paul Millsap shot just 1-of-7 from the field, but posted a superb 16 rebounds. His lone field goal was a huge bucket with two minutes remaining, giving Denver a 95-94 edge. He made his presence known defensively, tallying a block and a steal.

Monte Morris played well at the backup point guard slot. He chipped in seven points and four assists while committing zero turnovers. Morris looked confident leading Denver’s second unit.

Trey Lyles scored 10 points and nabbed seven rebounds. He shot a healthy 3-for-6 from the field, and proved himself a matchup problem for Clippers defenders.

Mason Plumlee tallied three blocks, including a rejection of Lou Williams‘ layup with under 30 seconds to go. Denver was up by six, and Plumlee’s block essentially sealed the game.
