3. When will Porzingis return?

If the New York Knicks had Kristaps Porzingis on their active roster, many people would have them in the conversation for a playoff spot. The 7’3” big man out of Latvia, once booed on draft night, has unexpectedly turned into the centerpiece of the whole franchise, meaning he’s as vital to the team’s success as anyone.

During the 48 games Porzingis appeared in last year, he averaged 22.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in 32.4 minutes per game. His performances earned him his first All-Star spot, though his injury prevented him from appearing in the game itself.

Unfortunately, no timetable has been announced yet as to when Porzingis is going to be able to compete again on the court.

A torn ACL might be one of the most serious basketball injuries, with many victims every season around the league. In most cases, the player comes back 6-9 months after the injury has occurred.

With the probability of Porzingis stepping on the court before 2019 slowly fading away, who is going to be the one to step up for these young Knicks?
