2. Show off his versatility on both ends

Furkan Korkmaz is oozing with versatility, much like the other core players for the Philadelphia 76ers. He isn’t going to fill up the stat sheet like Ben Simmons or dominate the paint like Joel Embiid, but he has a versatile skill set of his own that can be utilized off the bench.

Outside of being a solid 3-point threat, Korkmaz is also a skilled slasher. When 3-point shots aren’t falling, he has the ability to create his own shot off the dribble. His game is certainly comparable to Marco Belinelli but with slightly more size.

With Wilson Chandler out currently with an injury, there’s room for Korkmaz to earn some playing time. Rookie guard Landry Shamet has earned the nod for more minutes in recent games. Shamet is averaging 8.8 points per game in 18.1 minutes per contest. There’s no doubting both will be on the roster but with Markelle Fultz in the starting lineup, it opens the door for another guard to come into play off the bench.

Korkmaz will certainly need to step it up on the defensive end if he hopes to get more minutes. That’s where the Philadelphia 76ers seemed to come up short last season. If he can do that, he might be able to crack the rotation for consistent minutes.
