Golden State Warriors: 3 player grades from preseason loss to Lakers
By James Siegle
Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry scored 23 points on an efficient 11 shots, netting all nine free throw attempts. He drilled 6-of-11 from the field and 2-of-3 from downtown. Steph also tallied five assists, three rebounds, two steals and five turnovers in 26 minutes.
Curry got off to another hot start, dropping 14 points in the first quarter. He hit a mid-quarter spurt, beginning with a step-back jumper at the 8:28 mark. He proceeded to score eight points in under three minutes, capping the burst with a 3-pointer at the 5:33 mark.
Steph wasn’t particularly flashy, splashing just two makes from deep. Nonetheless, he converted multiple tough layups, and earned nine free throw attempts. It is nice to see Curry attack the rim like that.
The five turnovers are an ugly mark. Other than this, Steph was solid. Wednesday night provided fewer highlights, but Curry posted a gritty, efficient showing.
