In a sloppy game that produced 44 combined turnovers, the Golden State Warriors fell 123-113 to the Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday in a preseason game in Las Vegas.
Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant combined for 61 points in the loss. No other player produced more than 10.
The game was bizarre in many regards, one oddity being Durant’s early foul-out. He was whistled for his sixth personal at the 5:07 mark of the third quarter. Head coach Steve Kerr smirked from the bench, but remained seated after Monday’s ejection.
The Warriors shot an uncharacteristic 20-of-36 from the free throw line (55.6 percent). They also tallied just 23 assists on 42 buckets. They posted a whopping 25 turnovers, which is 10 more than last year’s average (14.9).
