4. Dennis Schroder winning Sixth Man of the Year

The Thunder’s bench was one of the worst last season. OKC was 29th in bench scoring with 26.4 points per game. They brought in Dennis Schroder to be their sixth man and Nerlens Noel to be the backup for Steven Adams.

This could be a big year for Schroder. The Thunder in the Kevin Durant era always had a sixth man to provide offense when Durant and Westbrook went out of the game, and also late in games to close out with KD and Russ on the court.

They will go back to those days when Schroder suits up for OKC. Schroder was the leading scorer for the Atlanta Hawks last year and he is coming to a team that has Paul George and Westbrook already on the roster.

Schroder is looking primed to have a great season and he will be able to do that by bringing his talents to an already talented OKC Thunder team — so long as he embraces his new but familiar bench role.
