4. Burke picking up from where he left off

If you ask every NY fan what the biggest and most pleasing surprise of last season was, Trey Burke would be the unanimous answer. Originally signed in January, Burke would add some depth to the struggling New York Knicks team. But then, he unleashed the monster inside him.

After the All-Star break, Burke turned into one of the best point guards in the entire Eastern Conference while being one of the most dependable players on New York’s roster. During the 36 games he appeared in, he averaged 12.8 points and 4.7 assists in just 21.8 minutes per game while shooting 50.3 perfect from the field.

By taking a look at his per 36 numbers, flashes of greatness appear on the stat sheet. At 21.1 points while dishing out 7.8 assists, one can only wonder what Burke could do if he were to get that much playing time on the court.

Could Burke continue his series of dominating performances in 2018-19? Since the official starting lineup is yet to be announced, nobody can really predict who the starting point guard will be. But if it comes down to Burke, an explosive season might be ahead of us.
