3. Brandon Ingram

Ever since he came into the league as the second overall pick back in 2016, Brandon Ingram has been labeled a player with tremendous gifts and star potential.

Leading up to the draft that year, there was an ongoing debate about who warranted the number one overall pick, Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram. In just one season, Simmons has justified his supporters. Now it’s time for Ingram to do the same.

Going from a rookie to sophomore, Ingram’s rebounds and assists per game increased, with a noticeable spike in points per game and efficiency across the board. To expect a similar jump again this season is rational, but it will be up to Ingram to actually make it happen.

As trade rumors surrounded the Lakers on a daily basis over the summer, one player the team seemingly refused to even consider parting ways with was Brandon Ingram. This was largely due to the stardom they believe he’s destined for.

If he doesn’t deliver, though, in the make-or-break third season, LA’s stance could shift as the deadline inches closer.
