2. Improve 3-point efficiency

Covington dealt with some major shooting woes last season.

Before his extension, he maintained 49.5 percent shooting from 3-point range and shot 50.9 percent from the field. Following the next 10 matchups, however, his 3-point percentage fell drastically to 32.2 percent, down to 45.5 percent from the field overall.

Shooting was one of the Sixers’ main deficiencies in their second round playoff series loss to the Boston Celtics. Covington was one of the particular names that stood out during the series.

He was 5-for-21 from downtown heading into the Game 5 elimination game, and four of those makes came in one 22-point performance in Game 2.

He must find a way to remain efficient throughout an entire season for him to be a reliable option in crucial games.
