25. Taj Gibson, Minnesota Timberwolves

It’s sad that this latter stage of Taj Gibson‘s career consists of watching Tom Thibodeau run his power forward’s 33-year-old legs through a cheese grater, but it is what it is. It took him nine years in the league, but Gibson finally cracked 30 minutes per game for the first time in his career, averaging 33.3 a night in all 82 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season.

The good news is Gibson doesn’t have as many miles on his NBA odometer as most guys his age, but we’ve seen how quickly Thibs’ heavy playing regimen can wear down his starters. With that being said, Taj did have one of the best seasons of his career last year.

Though the Wolves barely snuck into the playoffs, Gibson was consistently good, even if he was never great. He averaged 12.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, and even shot a career-high 57.7 percent from the floor. With another year of grinding out minutes coming his way though, it may not get much better than “serviceable” from here.
