3. Establish the wing rotation

It is no secret the Cleveland Cavaliers currently possess an awful lot of wing players that are capable of getting good minutes game in and game out.

Players like Jordan Clarkson, Kyle Korver, J.R. Smith, Cedi Osman and Rodney Hood (should the two sides to agree upon a deal) are all players that deserve a certain amount of minutes and shots per game.

Now it is up to head coach Tyrone Lue to figure out the best way to maximize every single one of those shooters and make sure they click with the team’s playmakers, Collin Sexton and George Hill.

We will probably not see any of the aforementioned players stand out and average more than 30 minutes per game, as it would be unfair to the other really talented guys. Even though there have been many trade rumors regarding some of these wing players, no trade has actually gone through quite yet.

After acquisitions like David Nwaba and Sam Dekker, one can only wonder what the team’s rotations are going to look like, should the Cleveland Cavaliers retain their current roster for the start of the 2018-19 season. Establishing that wing rotation will be important for that very reason.

2. Trade for Hassan Whiteside

This trade proposal is so good that both teams should agree on it in the blink of an eye. It makes perfect sense for the two franchises while simultaneously giving an extra “health pack” to both these centers, Hassan Whiteside and Tristan Thompson.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been shopping Thompson for a while now, with nothing to actually show for it — not because Thompson is a bad player, but due to the heavy contract he carries with him.

South Beach has been the place where Hassan Whiteside evolved into one of the best centers in the league, but many think it might be time for a change of scenery. The prolific shot-blocker has been growing frustrated, especially last season where he averaged just 25.3 minutes per game.

Pairing Whiteside with Kevin Love seems like the perfect frontcourt from every standpoint. They can provide the team with rebounding, defense and all kinds of offense.

But why does this trade make perfect sense for the Miami Heat? Well for starters they acquire a solid center to use behind Kelly Olynyk and Bam Adebayo, a player that excited the Heat throughout his rookie season. In addition to that, they also get a prolific 3-point shooter in Kyle Korver who can help the team improve on that 36 percent 3-point shooting they put up last year.
