3. Capela still has plenty of upside

The center from Switzerland had shown potential throughout the beginning parts of his NBA career after he was drafted by the Rockets with the 25th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. In his first season with a legitimate role on the team as the backup center to Dwight Howard, Capela showed he had the length to compete at the NBA level, averaging 1.2 blocks per game.

When he finally became the starter for the Rockets the next season, he averaged 12.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game at just 22 years old. When Chris Paul arrived from Los Angeles last season, Capela showed tremendous improvement once again, averaging 13.9 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.

This continued improvement is a big reason why Rockets management decided to bring Capela back on a long-term deal. Still just 24 years old, Capela can continue to improve and become one of the best centers in the league. Now he is guaranteed to be pursuing this goal in a Rockets uniform for at least the next five seasons.
