Drafting Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk

After showcasing his offensive skill-set at NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk has people talking.

Svi earned himself a spot on the All-NBA Summer League Second Team, averaging 16.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

When the Lakers used the No. 47 pick to draft Svi, they did so with the hopes that he’d help them at the 3-point line. He shot 40.8 percent from downtown in Summer League and will look to improve on that number in the regular season.

The Lakers’ best 3-point shooter last season was Josh Hart, who shot 39.6 percent. Granted, it’s Summer League and he hasn’t played a regular season game, but Svi has already demonstrated he can shoot with the best of them.

Mykhailiuk’s summer showcase moves him up an entire letter grade from his original draft night score.
