Toronto Raptors: 5 takeaways from 2018 NBA Summer League

4. Chris Boucher could be a late bloomer
Chris Boucher signed a training camp deal with the Raptors on Friday, per Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.
After being on a two-way deal with the Golden State Warriors last season, Boucher found his way onto the Raptors’ summer squad, and he hasn’t looked back.
In Summer League, he averaged 12.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while shooting an encouraging 50 percent from the field. He also gave a few solid defensive performances with his shot-blocking ability and athleticism. At age 25, now is the time for him to finally show that he belongs in the NBA.
The 6’10” power forward hasn’t been able to secure any longevity with an NBA roster since going undrafted in 2017. But his current situation with Toronto could be what he’s been preparing for.
The Raptors recently dealt their up-and-coming post threat Jakob Poeltl as a part of the Leonard trade, which leaves a perfect opportunity for Boucher to make the final 15-man roster.
