4. Deng Adel can play

Despite seeing only two minutes of action in the Rockets’ Summer League opener against the Pacers, Deng Adel refused to let it deter him during his time in Sin City, as the former Louisville Cardinals star managed to find his rhythm and make the most out of his extended minutes whenever he received them.

The 22-year-old forward who didn’t hear his name called in the 2018 NBA Draft averaged 8.3 points per game for Houston. While shooting 57.9 percent from the field, Adel displayed a solid stroke from the outside and made several impressive highlight plays in the process.

Although he got off to a slow start, the 6’7″ wing showed that why he could fit nicely into the Rockets’ system when given the chance, as his ability to shoot and defend multiple positions should make him a legitimate candidate to earn a possible two-way contract or G League deal with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Should second round draft pick Vince Edwards fail to pan out, Adel could make for a nice security option.
