3. Naz Mitrou-Long is a legitimate NBA player

Naz Mitrou-Long is a legitimate NBA player. Don’t take my word for it though, take the team’s:

Some may view the contract as well-deserved. Others may view it as puzzling. Mitrou-Long has played one minute in the NBA, and has three points to his name. That didn’t deter Utah from giving him one of their two allotted two-way contracts.

Mitrou-Long spent most of last season playing for the Jazz’s G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars. He averaged 18.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. He also shot 37.7 percent from deep on 9.0 attempts a game — pretty solid all-around. It was more of the same in Summer League.

Mitrou-Long averaged 9.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game in Summer League. He also averaged a steal per game. His 54 percent shooting from the floor was third-best on the team.

While the averages are a far cry from those of the G League, it must be remembered that this is a much smaller sample size and Long arguably did more with less.
