3. Trevon Duval, PG

As the highest-rated point guard in the high school class of 2017 and sixth overall ranked player in the ESPN 100, Trevon Duval spent one year under Mike Krzyzewski at Duke before declaring for the 2018 NBA Draft. Duval is the first Duke player to play just one year at the school and then go undrafted the following year.

However, the Rockets must have seen something in Duval’s game that made them inclined to add him to their Summer League roster. The young point guard averaged 10.3 points, 5.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game in his freshman season at Duke. He was named to the All-Region team for his performance during Duke’s run to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

In two Summer League appearances so far, Duval is averaging 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game on 7-of-18 shooting overall.

The fact that Duval was a national star in college and then went undrafted makes him an intruiging storyline for Rockets fans to follow. His ability to get to the basket and make plays for his teammates is fun to watch and could earn him a spot in the Rockets organization if he performs well enough.
