The Houston Rockets are participating in the 2018 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Let’s take a look at three players to keep an eye on.

Fans of the Houston Rockets certainly have a great deal to get excited about heading into the 2018-19 season with the return of Chris Paul on a maximum salary contract and James Harden looking to keep the momentum going after his MVP campaign.

While the countdown is on for training camp and the start of the 2018-19 regular season, fans can satisfy their basketball cravings by watching some of the best young talents in the league at the NBA Summer League. The Rockets have sent a team of 16 players, most of which are rookies who have never had the chance to step on an NBA basketball court.

For some of these players, they are hoping to catch the eye of Rockets decision-makers and earn a spot on the opening night roster. The Rockets’ Summer League team has a few players who did not have many opportunities during the regular season and hope to prove that they deserve more minutes in the rotation for Mike D’Antoni‘s team this season.

Other players will use this experience as a chance to compete for a two-way contract with the Rockets or any other team. This is the second year that the two-way contract has been in place and it gives the team the ability to examine their young talent at the NBA level while still having the option to let the player gain experience at the G League level.

Overall this will be chance for Rockets fans to check in on some players they haven’t seen play consistently in a while, evaluate what sort of talent Houston’s new draft picks possess, and maybe find a diamond in the rough that can contribute to the team this year. Let’s take a look at three players to keep an eye on in Summer League.
