2. The replacements

The Grizzlies selected Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jevon Carter with the fourth and 32nd overall picks, respectively. Both Jackson and Carter look solid as they have dominated in two games of Summer League play. I won’t say that Carter is a starter on this team, but he looks like he has the tools to be a capable backup.

Jackson has all the tools of an NBA starter for years to come in the modern NBA. He is a defensive menace that can also spread the floor and shoot it from deep. In his first game against the Atlanta Hawks, it seemed like Jaren Jackson Jr. just could not miss.

Jevon Carter played press defense on Atlanta’s first round pick, Trae Young, and had him shut down for what it appeared to be the entire game. These two players appear to be solid building blocks for the Memphis Grizzlies.
