3. Getting older

Marc Gasol is 33 years old and although he is a solid center, should the Grizzlies keep him on the roster? Although you shouldn’t judge solely based on Summer League play, Jaren Jackson Jr. has been lighting it up. He appears to be one of the most complete players in Summer League and will need minutes early on to continue his development.

Trading Chandler Parsons is a different story, as his contract is viewed as a negative asset all across the league. Dillon Brooks and new signee Omri Casspi can both produce at that position for a fraction of the cost. The question is, do you offload a positive asset just to remove a negative asset now? Or do you wait until his contract is a bit more manageable?

Trading Mike Conley is another curious case as he is a highly productive player on a max contract. The only problem with him is his health. Conley hasn’t played a relatively full season since the 2012-13 season. You could make an argument to keep him as he is the second-youngest player of this group.
