3. Ian Clark

Ian Clark carved out a nice role for himself with the New Orleans Pelicans this year. He averaged 7.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists in a career-high 19.7 minutes per game. His numbers aren’t much to look at, but he is certainly a serviceable bench scorer and we have seen how he can get hot in a hurry:

Clark is a very nice, cheap option for the Thunder to go after that will not break the bank. It helps that he’s a combo guard too, because the Thunder are very weak in backcourt depth. What with the Thunder being over the cap limit and all, Clark could be had for a veteran minimum deal, especially after the Pelicans brought in Elfrid Payton and plan to re-sign Rajon Rondo.

Something Oklahoma City has going for them is the presence of superstars. The allure of playing alongside Russell Westbrook and Paul George (and to some extent maybe Carmelo Anthony still) might be enough to win over a player for slightly cheaper than normal.
