3. Phoenix Suns

The Suns are the Western Conference version of the Magic; a franchise trying to work its way up from the NBA’s basement with a shiny new rookie center at the forefront and a potential vacancy at power forward.

Phoenix landed the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and used it on 7’1″ center DeAndre Ayton. He could form a super-athletic frontcourt tandem with 2016 lottery pick Marquese Chriss, but the 20-year-old power forward may have already worn out his welcome.

Chriss’ name popped up in trade rumors near the February deadline, around the same time he was suspended for a game following an argument with a coach. Then it was reported that the Suns were shopping Chriss around on draft night.

The Suns have a ready-made “Big Two” with Ayton and shooting guard Devin Booker, who should make an All-Star Game in the next year or two. Favors can be a solid piece for the team’s foundation who brings experience and complements the team’s stars well with his style of play.
