3. Experience

Experience may not be a word you normally associate with a second round pick, but Frazier can absolutely bring a dose of that to this roster.

As a result of playing three years of college basketball, Frazier is older than lottery pick Mohamed Bamba, as well as last year’s first round pick, Jonathan Isaac.

At 21, he is only one year younger than Aaron Gordon and less than two years younger than Mario Hezonja.

Frazier has the tools to help the team right away with his athletic ability, but combine that with understanding who he is as a player as a result of playing consistently for three seasons, and that’s a good mix.

Frazier isn’t going to be like these one-and-done players who require a lot of learning and growing pains while on the court. There will still be an element of that, but the Magic have picked a player who is further along in his own development, which is a plus.

This means his upside isn’t as high as other players on the team, but if they can get steady contributions from him somewhere down the line, that’s a second round pick well used.
