No. 15: Troy Brown Jr., Oregon

Troy Brown is believed to be a versatile wingman that the Washington Wizards need, but if that’s the case, it makes you wonder what guys like Otto Porter Jr. and Kelly Oubre Jr. are there for.

At 6’7″ and 215 pounds, Brown has the same physical makeup of both Porter and Oubre give or take a few pounds. He averaged 11.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game at the forward position for the Oregon Ducks in 2017-18.

There were a lot of positive takeaways from Brown’s performance, as Oregon earned a berth in the NIT, but still, this selection could have been better for the Washington Wizards.

While many would say versatility is his strong suit, shooting the 3-ball isn’t. Brown shot 29.1 percent from 3-point range as a freshman in 2017-18. For comparison’s sake, Lonnie Walker IV shot 34.6 percent and Donte DiVincenzo shot 40.1 percent from 3-point land this year.

Still, the Wizards saw something in Brown that caused them to take him with the 15th pick. He’ll have his work cut out for him in proving himself to the masses, that’s for sure.
