Is a dream lineup including Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and LeBron James possible for the Los Angeles Lakers? If so, the starting five could look something like this.

The 2018 NBA offseason hasn’t even started yet, and it’s already on fire. There’s endless speculation about what the future holds for LeBron James, the league’s biggest star. Now, word is Kawhi Leonard wants a trade away from the San Antonio Spurs, potentially to the Los Angeles Lakers.

This got folks thinking: Could James, Leonard and Paul George all end up in Hollywood this offseason? It seems like an asinine idea on the surface, but it’s not as farfetched as you may think.

Surprisingly, it could actually work from a financial standpoint. Getting three max-contract players on the roster while still retaining at least a couple of their building blocks won’t be easy. However, if Magic Johnson plays his cards right and actually convinces the Spurs to make a reasonable trade, we could see the birth of a new super-team in Los Angeles.

Let’s say the stars align. Johnson swings a deal for Leonard and persuades LeBron and George to bring their talents westward. From there, what would the franchise’s starting five look like? More guesses will need to be made, but we can put together a framework for this potential outcome.
