5. Kostas Antetokounmpo, SF/PF — Dayton

Chances are, Kostas Antetokounmpo will veer more toward his brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo‘s career than superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s. Kostas doesn’t even make the cut on quite a few mock drafts, and is projected to go in the 50s in most others.

There’s a decent chance he’ll be available on draft night when the Suns are on the clock at No. 59 (he’s projected to go No. 58 in ESPN‘s latest mock), and there’s an equally good chance he amounts to a G Leauger who never paves his way in this league.

With that being said, it’s not like Antetokounmpo is just a mass of limbs without any talent. The Greek Freak was extremely raw when he entered the league too, so although Kostas is already 20 years old, there are worse uses for the second-to-last pick in the draft than taking a chance on this 6’10” forward from Dayton in the hopes he takes after his brother Giannis.

Again, Kostas isn’t going to be an NBA superstar like his brother, but he’s got a lot of the same raw, physical gifts to work with. His 5.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 15.1 minutes per game during his one season with the Flyers were hardly eye-opening, but when Antetokounmpo showed flashes of his potential, it was hard not to be reminded of his older brother.

His 7’2″ wingspan and shot-blocking potential (2.8 per 40 minutes) are worth taking a swing on this late in the second round. Having too many wings is never a bad thing in the modern NBA, and though he’d spend more time with the Northern Arizona Suns than the actual Suns as a rookie, who knows? Maybe in the long-term he’d be worth this extremely minimal investment.
