If by some rare chance the Phoenix Suns actually use the 59th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, here are five potential targets that could be available.

Figuring out what the Phoenix Suns are going to do on the night of the 2018 NBA Draft is a lot like watching HBO’s Westworld: You can try to make sense of the Timeline if you want, but most likely, you’re just going to wind up confused trying to get to the center of the maze.

Instead, fans should simply sit back and accept the mayhem unfolding before them for what it is: entertainment that’s sure to be accompanied by plenty of alternative theories once it’s all over.

With the No. 1 overall pick, plus selections at No. 16 and No. 31, the Suns have a ton of options. They could use the first selection on Deandre Ayton as expected, though he’d come with plenty of pros and cons. They could take Luka Doncic, Mohamed Bamba, Jaren Jackson Jr. or even Marvin Bagley III, they could trade the pick to move down for one of those players like Danny Ainge did last year, or they could package it as part of a blockbuster deal for a young star.

And that’s just the first pick. The 16th and 31st selections could be used to find point guard depth, a big man (if the Suns shock the world and take Doncic at No. 1) or package them to either move up in the draft order or bring an established veteran to Phoenix.

Suffice it to say the 59th overall pick in the draft is not high on general manager Ryan McDonough’s priority list as he enters the biggest offseason in Suns franchise history. Though the team has done its due diligence bringing in prospects in that range for draft workouts, more than likely, this pick will be bought or traded to some team desperate to get in on the action.

However, as Doctor Strange would tell you, out of millions of possible alternative timelines, there’s probably one where the Suns actually use their pick at No. 59. For the sake of that unlikely event unfolding, here’s a look at five players or draft-and-stash prospects they might use this pick on.
