Final grade

Overall, Jones’ season was a fairly successful one. He was able to start 11 games and in that time he showed that he may be capable of being a starter one day. He has a lot more room to grow if he ever wants to get to that point, but he’s shown flashes and is still only 22.

There weren’t many low points of the season considering his position on the team. If anything, he sparked conversation as to whether he should be the starter over Teague. Teague still has his number, but if Jones only continues to improved, that idea wouldn’t be too farfetched at some point down the line.

Jones needs to work on his offensive game if he wants to get more time. He’s shown that he’s a good defender and floor general, it’s just a question of whether he can find ways to score.

Minnesota needs all the bench scoring it can get and it would go a long way if Tyus Jones could start filling up the score column. He should have a big year next season if he’s given the opportunity to do so.
