Strengths

The Wizards are a better team with John Wall on the court, that shouldn’t be up for debate. With Wall in the rotation, the Wizards were 23-18. Without Wall in the rotation, Washington posted a 20-21 record.

The win/loss discrepancy in 2017-18 differed some with the emergence of Tomas Satoransky in the backcourt, but it’s hard to foresee the Wizards getting very far without Wall.

In victories, he put up 20.2 points, 9.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.4 blocks per game in 2017-18. In losses, his numbers dipped slightly to 18.4 points, 9.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per contest.

There’s no denying Wall’s ability to get his teammates involved. He led the team in total assists (393) as well as assists per game. His leadership on the floor is something the Wizards shouldn’t take for granted as they look for scoring outside of Bradley Beal. It’s up to the coaching staff to get the most out of this group.
