2. Troy Brown Jr., SG/SF — Oregon

Troy Brown Jr. is one of my favorite prospects in this draft. He has tremendous size and many tools to be great in this league. He’s an all-around player, but does lack the ability to shoot at this stage in his career.

Brown is listed as a point guard/shooting guard on some sites, but also as a small forward on others. That just goes to show his value and ability to play multiple positions.

He’s 6’7″ and 215 pounds – not the same size or athleticism as Ben Simmons, but certainly similar characteristics as a playmaker with his size. Any player that has the ability to be a playmaker or a ball-handler is dangerous, but at 6’7″, that’s even scarier.

In his one season at Oregon, he averaged 11.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game. His offense is a little behind though, as he shot only 29.1 percent from 3 on 3.1 attempts per game.

He will need to become a better shooter eventually, but if he can finish at the rim or make mid-range shots, that should suffice for now. His playmaking ability will allow him to get by offensively for the time being.

Brown is also is a good defender. He’s able to use his size to his advantage and get in the face of his opponents. He certainly would be a good addition to this young Sizers team because he does have good upside and all the tools to be successful. If he can find his shot, he will be a deadly player at the next level.
