1. Troy Brown Jr., SF — Oregon

The Celtics don’t necessarily need another small forward on their team, but if Troy Brown Jr. slides this far down, it could be the best thing for the Celtics to draft him. They have Brown, Tatum and Hayward as of now.

In the first game of the season, the Celtics’ lineup consisted of all three guys in the starting lineup. Things may be different because of Hayward’s injury, but that’s what we know before seeing him return to action.

That leads to Boston’s lack of size coming off the bench. The Celtics could slide Marcus Morris at the small forward position, but who plays power forward? Brown would be a nice addition to the bench as well, or until they find that they can start him and find trade partners sometime in the future.

Troy Brown is a good defender, but lacks offense. He averaged 1.6 steals per game but only 0.2 blocks. He’s able to defend other players with his 6’7″ frame and weighing 215 pounds.

Even with his size, he may be one of the better playmakers in this class, averaging 3.2 assists per game.

To go along with his playmaking and defense, he put together 11.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. He will need to work on shooting well because he only averaged 29.1 percent from 3 on 3.1 attempts per game. He did shoot 44.4 percent from the field, however.

All of these players would be a great addition at No. 27.. The only tricky part is whether or not some of them will actually slide to that point. The biggest needs are depth, replacement options and scoring. All of these guys would help fill some of those needs going into the 2018-19 season.
