2. Grayson Allen, SG — Duke

Grayson Allen would be perfect for Boston as well. The Celtics will want a player that is continuously giving 110 percent whenever he’s on the floor. He never takes a play off and you could argue that no one exudes more passion than him about the game of basketball.

He’s a leader and will help your team win many games. It also helps that he was coached under one of the best coaches in NCAA history, Mike Krzyzewski. That’s helped him come a long way in his four years.

Drafting Allen means that you’ll get some of those dirty on-court issues, but his play and will to give you his all is exactly what the Celtics want. Allen continued to work at his game and showed why he deserves a spot in the NBA.

He averaged 15.5 points, 4.6 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game.  His scoring has dropped since his sophomore year, in which he put up 21.6 points per game. Still, he’s shown that he can still score just as well as he did in his second season.

There’s no doubt in my mind that he will be able to continue to score the ball at the next level. He also shot 37.0 percent from downtown on 7.5 attempts per game. He can score the ball from 3 and offense is something that the Celtics need.

More than likely he’ll come off the bench and having an offensive weapon on the bench is a desperate need for the team. Allen also showed out at the NBA Draft Combine. His vertical measured in at 40.5″ and his speed… well that speaks for itself:

He’s a safe pick in which you’ll know you’re going to get a solid backup option off the bench that can hit big shots and lead your second or starting unit.
