1. Khyri Thomas, PG/SG — Creighton

Khyri Thomas is a perfect fit for this Wolves team because he’s another 3-and-D prospect. Unlike Walker, Thomas is a better ball-handler and is a combo guard. The majority of these players on this list are guys that have played more than one season in college, and Thomas is no different.

However, that’s a good thing for a playoff team like the Wolves. Plus, last year’s first round pick, Justin Patton, also played at Creighton with Thomas. Drafting him could help his transition to the NBA go a bit more smoothly. More than likely, they both would be coming off the bench with each other next season, which could spark some chemistry in the second unit.

That all depends on how Patton’s injury heals up after undergoing another foot surgery, as well as Tom Thibodeau’s penchant for rarely playing rookies. But if he proved himself, Thomas would remind people how great of a shooter he was in college.

He shot 41.1 percent from 3 on 4.6 attempts per game, which could be very valuable for the Wolves moving forward. He was also able to come away with 1.7 steals per game. He was a pest on defense and didn’t allow anything easy. While he is a combo guard, he might be better suited as a shooting guard.

He could become an X-factor off the bench this season as a 3-and-D player. As years move on, he could become an even bigger part of the Wolves franchise. All of these players could become essential to the Wolves success. They all mark the desired need of defense and/or 3-point shooting. There’s plenty of options for the 20th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, but these five could be the best ones moving forward.
