4. Kevin Knox

Small forward isn’t a pressing need for the Clippers. They have Tobias Harris and Danilo Gallinari to hold things down. However, adding some depth there wouldn’t be the worst decision.

Next season is the last on Harris’ contract, and Gallinari is a huge injury liability. Adding a long-term option there would make some sense, and Kentucky’s Kevin Knox could be the selection.

Knox is 6’9″ and possesses great athleticism. He has a knack for scoring the ball, averaging 15.6 points per game his freshman season. He has the ability to take over a game and score from anywhere on the court; just ask West Virginia about that. Knox scored a career-high 34 points against the vaunted West Virginia press defense.

You know what you are getting when you put Knox in the game. He will score the basketball, and do it in bunches. However, he doesn’t provide much else — at least, not yet. He averaged only 5.4 rebounds per game, a relatively low number given his size and athleticism.

Knox could play either forward spot and could be a matchup nightmare as a small ball-4, especially if he gains consistency on his jump shot. He just has to work on his game defensively and improve his consistency to unlock his potential.
