3. Khyri Thomas, PG/SG — Creighton

The Creighton Bluejays’ biggest weapon on offense was the 6’3″ Khyri Thomas. He averaged a career-high 15.1 points with 4.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game while starting all 33 games for the Bluejays.

In his best game, Thomas poured in 24 points and 11 rebounds on 9-of-16 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 shooting from behind the arc. It was his lone double-double of the year. He shot 41.1 percent from 3-point land in his junior season with Creighton. He’s got a similar knack for scoring that point guard Kemba Walker does.

Thomas also won the Big East Defensive Player of the Year award in the past two seasons with Creighton. Other two-time winners include guys by the name of Kris Dunn, Allen Iverson, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo and Patrick Ewing. Despite his size at 6’3″, Thomas is a pest on defense, something Charlotte could use alongside pesky All-Star guard Kemba Walker.

He joins a list of four active Creighton players currently in the NBA (Kyle Korver, Doug McDermott, Anthony Tolliver and Justin Patton). Make him the fifth draft hopeful out of Creighton to make it to draft night and he’s got sleeper written all over him.
