Final grade

Overall Teague had an mediocre season despite what his final scoring or assist numbers say. He was under a lot of heat from fans in the first half of the season, though he finished a lot stronger than how he started.

However, despite helping Minnesota down the line with a bunch of big offensive nights, his defense and entry passes proved to be a big killer throughout the season. Not only that, but he had a tendency to hold the ball for too long.

Next season it will be important for him to know his role, meaning, don’t try to do too much when it takes away from some of Minnesota’s better offensive players. He’ll also need to work on accuracy of his passing and defense.

Having a player who can space the floor is important for the Wolves. Minnesota is the worst 3-point shooting team in terms of made shots and attempts. The NBA is evolving into 3-point shooting, and if Minnesota wants to keep up, it’ll need all the help it can get.

Teague is still under contract for two more seasons, so it will be interesting to see how those next two years end up panning out.
