10. Snapping the Boston Celtics’ 16-game win streak

With a still-healthy Dion Waiters and Goran Dragic at the helm, the Heat managed to stop the Boston Celtics’ rapid momentum in early November, finishing with with 26 and 27 points, respectively.

After Gordon Hayward went down with a horrific ankle injury in the team’s first game, NBA fans immediately counted out the Celtics as Eastern contenders.

Kyrie Irving had other plans, as he quickly emerged as the newfound leader while Boston ripped off an impressive 16-game win streak early on, marking their spot in the East. At the time, the Heat were riding a sluggish 7-9 record, but they managed to contain Boston’s fast-paced offense with lockdown defense and transition plays.

It was Kelly Olynyk’s first game against his former team in a Heat uniform. While he didn’t load up the stat sheet, he showed a lot of promise and hustle in that home victory — a sign of great things to come from the former Gonzaga star.
