2. Derrick Rose provides offensive help

Derrick Rose has turned out to be a good signing after all. Many people were a little weary that it was not the best decision to sign the former MVP, but Rose has put that sentiment to rest. There are still moments where he shoots some ugly contested shots instead of passing to someone else, but hey, that can be said about anyone in the NBA.

Rose has come in at the end of the season and provided big offensive output. For some people who have not watched a lot of Wolves games, his defense hasn’t been as bad as advertised, particularly in the playoffs against offensive wizards in Harden and Chris Paul.

In the four games he’s played in, he’s logged 16, 9, 17 and 17 points. Game 4 was just another example on a night where the offense wasn’t much help from many people on the Wolves. In this game, he finished with 7-for-11 and made both of the 3-pointers he attempted.

It’s not even the scoring from Rose that has been so beneficial, it’s been his energy and ability to push the ball up the floor. We saw plays like these:

Rose has been a catalyst to this Wolves bench and it’s been fun to see him starting to get comfortable again. He will need to come up big again on Wednesday if they’d like to have a chance, especially if Tyus Jones remains out with a right knee injury.
