10. Nikola Jokic goes for a career-high 41 points

Big man Nikola Jokic didn’t waste any time getting going in the scoring department, showing in the early going it would be a special season for him. On Nov. 7 against the Brooklyn Nets, Jokic poured in 41 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks.

In the Nuggets’ second meeting of the season against the Nets, they won 112-104 behind a masterful performance from Jokic. He was 16-of-25 (64 percent) from the field and 4-for-9 from 3-point range in the game to lead the way.

It was his first 40-point game of the season as he led all scorers in the game. Ironically, he ended up fouling out with 2:59 left remaining, but the Denver Nuggets held off a furious Brooklyn rally to get the victory. The Nets outscored them 31-19 in the fourth quarter.

Denver got 17 points apiece from Paul Millsap and Will Barton to offset the scoring load for Jokic. It was the only 40-point game of the year for Nikola Jokice, but he wasn’t the last player to set a new career-high in points.
