3. Third quarter swings game in favor of Washington

After heading into halftime with an 11-point cushion, it looked like the Raptors would cruise to a double-digit win in the nation’s capital.

The Wizards were having none of that, as they outscored Toronto 40-29 in the third quarter, propelling them back into the game and giving them the momentum they’d need to bring home the W.

The third quarter can make or break a team’s chances at a victory, especially at home, as, like we saw in Game 4, a great third frame can give a team the momentum it needs heading into the final frame.

The Raptors can’t allow the Wizards to score that many points in any quarter, but allowing it right after halftime is a dangerous game to play.

With Wall and Beal leading the charge, Washington has the potential to be dangerous down the stretch. No team should want to get into a tight game with them, as their backcourt can almost single-handedly propel them to victory.

From Toronto’s perspective, it’s best if they take the Wizards out of the game early, not allowing Wall nor Beal the possibility to beat them in the game’s waning moments.
