After a 106-98 defeat at the hands of the Washington Wizards in Game 4, the Toronto Raptors head north with the series tied at two apiece.

Despite building a lead as high as 14, the Toronto Raptors couldn’t close out the victory in Game 4, allowing the Washington Wizards to come back and win the game, 106-98, to even their first round series at 2-2.

Washington was once again propelled by its All-Star backcourt, as John Wall and Bradley Beal combined for 58 points, with Wall contributing 14 assists as well.

DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with 35 points, six rebounds and six assists, but shot an inefficient 10-of-29 shooting from the field.

After Bradley Beal picked up his sixth foul on a questionable call, Wall took over, scoring eight points and helping Washington outscore Toronto 14-6 in the final five minutes to secure the win.

The biggest reason for the Raptors’ defeat was their second half play, where they were outscored 66-47, including a series-low 18 points in the fourth quarter.

Heading back to Toronto for Game 5, the Wizards appear to have all the momentum after tying up the series, and it’s that confidence they’ve gained that could make them a very real threat to come back to Washington up 3-2 in the series.

If the Raptors want to stomp out the Wizards’ hopes, they have to work on these three takeaways from their Game 4 disaster.
