8. Dallas goes on a four-game winning streak

The Dallas Mavericks didn’t have a thrilling year, but in December they went on quite the winning streak and surprisingly, it came against four playoff teams. Dallas won four straight games from Dec. 26-31 to end 2017 on a high note.

They defeated the Toronto Raptors, Indiana PacersNew Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder in consecutive games, showing that despite their youth, they do have the ability to beat other playoff teams.

Three of their four victories came on the road against the Pacers, Pelicans and Thunder. They didn’t back down from the competition despite the odds. They did surrender 109.0 points per contest, but they also scored 114.0 per game on offense.

Eleven of the Mavericks’ 24 wins in 2017-18 came against playoff teams. Granted, they also lost 35 games, but Dallas’ record against non-playoff teams was 13-23. That wasn’t the greatest record, but this win streak was something for them to build on through the season.
