2. The Heat could not adjust in the second half

The Miami Heat held a slim lead after the first stanza against Philadelphia, leading 60-56 at halftime, but the second half they looked completely lost. The Sixers outscored Miami 46-36 in the paint while also dominating the 3-point line.

The Heat gave up 74 points while only scoring 43 points themselves in the second half. As a team, Miami shot 15-of-36 (41.7 percent) from the field in the second half. The Sixers were 11-for-15 (73.3 percent) from the 3-point line alone.

The Sixers got hot in the third quarter, outscoring Miami 34-18, and the Heat looked shell-shocked all second half. Big man Hassan Whiteside finished with just two points, six rebounds and two blocks on 1-of-4 shooting in roughly 13 minutes of action. He logged only four minutes in the second half. It will be interesting to see what the Heat gameplan will be in Game 2. Another bad performance could take all the momentum away if they’re not careful.
