5. Myles Turner turns it around

Of course, it’s been fun to watch Big Al Jefferson contribute in meaningful ways like he used to be able to on a nightly basis, but the fact is that this team needs Myles Turner to become a force.

That doesn’t mean he needs to play at an All-Star level or lead the league in rebounds. All he needs to do is to find himself. The young man is just 21 years old, and despite his skills, there are still a few kinks to be worked out. Part of that is developing his basketball IQ.

Indiana is the right place for that. Compared to last season, his field goal percentage is down, his points, steals and rebounds are down, and his 3-pointers attempted are way up to 2.5 per contest. That is way too many 3s for a center to take on a roster that features shooters like Victor Oladipo, Darren Collison, and Bojan Bogdanovic.

If he can salvage this season from a personal stance, the Pacers will be in great shape heading into next season.
