2018 NBA Draft big board: End of January
By Max Holm
12. Lonnie Walker – Miami
Lonnie Walker is another freshman playing really well lately. I wrote several weeks ago about his slow start, but he seems to have turned a corner. Walker came into the season known as a strong athlete with a pure jumper and strong potential on defense. How much it had to do with the injury he was coming off of, as he looked lost and lacking confident, is unclear. You can’t say that about Walker right now. though
Over his last five ACC games, Walker is averaging 19 points and has hit almost 46 percent of his 3s. In their last game against Florida State, is jumper looked terrific. Every time he pulled up you expected it to go down. More than that, he’s attacking off the dribble, making great passes and competing on defense. He could do with improving as a rebounder, but these last few games have showed a player worth selecting in the lottery. Walker may end the year in my top-10.
